"The trend towards worldwide abolition of the capital punishment is continuing. Switzerland reaffirms its strong commitment to support this trend, to safeguard any achieved progress," Claude Altermatt, Swiss ambassador to Belarus, said in a video address released on the occasion of the World Day Against the Death Penalty, October 10.
