Death convict’s brother subject to pressure in a colony
The information appeared from the men’s mother Ryta Khmialeuskaya. She said that her son Aliaxei, who is now in the correctional colony in Navasady (Barysaŭ district), was about to be transferred to a minimum security colony. But recently, his brother received a death sentence, after which Aliaxei has been accused of being the same, and a head of the colony doubted if it was right to mitigate the conditions of imprisonment. The woman learnt about the pressure from a phone talk with her son.
The mother says that Aliaxei wants the situation to get publicized; she says that the major who exerts the pressure is not the chief of the colony, so she wants the senior administration of the colony to know it.
We remind that in mid-February the Minsk district court issued the death sentence against 31-year old Siarhei Khmialeuski for double or more homicide; it is the second death sentence in 2016.
