Liavon Volski: ‘We will not change anything by killing a man who has committed even a very terrible crime. Besides, it will cause more bloodthirstiness’
The founder of the rock-bands Mroya, NRM and the musical project Krambambulia Liavon Volski has joined the campaign against the death penalty, launched by the Belarusian human rights defenders.
‘You know, I am utterly opposed against the death penalty in Belarus and in the whole world. We will not change anything by killing a man who has committed a crime, be it even a very terrible crime. Believe me, it won’t change anything at all. Besides, it will cause more bloodthirstiness.
To my mind those who are against the abolishment of the death penalty either pursue some political aims or are very bloodthirsty and not very good by nature.’
