Death convict calls upon President Lukashenka to suspend execution

Aleh Hryshkautsou, sentenced to death on 14 May 2010, has addressed President Lukashenka with a request to suspend executing the sentence until his case is considered by the UN human Rights Committee.

Earlier, similar demands by death convicts Ales Zhuk and Vasil Yuzepchuk were dismissed by the Presidential administration. As a result, they were executed in late March 2010.

The right to life was violated. The UN Human Rights Committee responded to the Belarusian authorities on Berazhny and Hershankou executed in 2018
