Disabled man goes on hunger-strike to protest against death penalty

Valery Hancharneka, a man with a second-degree disability, has open tuberculosis. He says he cannot receive a proper treatment. On 12 December he went on hunger strike in the tuberculosis hospital in Bahusheusk (the Vitsebsk region), the press service of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party (BCD) reports. He also refused to take medicines.

Bear in mind that Hancharenka said a week ago he would be ready to sacrifice his life instead of convicted Dzmitry Kanavalau and Uladzislau Kavaliou. According to him, the decision was caused by intolerable living conditions.
