“The Queue”: Do not be indifferent! (video)
Activists of the campaign “Human Rights Defenders against the Death Penalty” created an animated film entitled “The Queue”, which touches on deep philosophical subjects: human life and the indifference of society in relation to the issue of the death penalty.
The essence of this film is explained by the coordinator of the campaign “Human Rights Defenders against the Death Penalty” Andrei Paluda:
“In their new video “The Queue” the activists reveal the aspect of indifference to the issue of the death penalty among Belarusian society. People often do not even think about what the issue of the death penalty means for each of us, as the sentences are executed in the name of the Republic of Belarus.
Indeed, every citizen is in his or her queue; days and years go by, and people are standing in line to finish school, get a degree, find a well-paid job... Other problems very seldom affect people.
As part of the campaign “Human Rights Defenders against the Death Penalty” we urge people not to be indifferent to life, especially in a situation of having the death penalty in a country called Belarus. For while there are trials – there are miscarriages of justice, and in our country such a mistake could take away the life of an innocent human being.
Therefore, we are against the death penalty... Do not be indifferent, join the campaign!"
