Court does not satisfy appeal lodged by Kavalyou’s relatives

The relatives of one of the people accused of the terrorist act in Minsk metro tried to appeal the decision of Minsk October District Court. They filed many claims concerning the actions of the state institutions including KGB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Radio Liberty notes. Kavalyou’s mother demanded information about her son’s burial site too.

The terrorist act in Minsk metro occurred on April 11, 2011. Uladzislau Kavalyou and Dzmitry Kanavalau were returned guilty of it and executed in March 2012. Lyubou Kavalyova has been trying to learn the exact date of her son’s death and get information about his burial site since then.

The right to life was violated. The UN Human Rights Committee responded to the Belarusian authorities on Berazhny and Hershankou executed in 2018
