Week against Death Penalty to start with poster exhibition
October 5, an exhibition of posters dedicated to the problem of the death penalty opens in Minsk. The visitors will be showed a series of short films "Six Arguments against Death Penalty", specially created by the Belarusian artist from Vilnius Aleh Ablazhei, and worksfrom the large-scale project Death Is Not Justice, submitted to the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty.
The exhibition will open at 6 p.m. at the gallery of "Goliaths" (Valhahradskaya Street, 4a; tube station “Maskouskaya”).
The event is a part of the Week against the death penalty in Belarus, held from 5 to 10 October.

October 7 - the exhibition of photojournalist Siarhei Balai, who dedicated his project to the mothersof death row convicts. The exhibition will open at 6 p.m. in the office of "Goliaths" (Valhahradskaya Street, 4a; tube station “Maskouskaya”).
October 8 –public lecture by Karel Schwarzenberg, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the gallery W (Nezalezhnastsi Avenue, 37a; tubestation “Ploshcha Peramohi”).
October 9 - public lecture by human rights activist Tamara Chikunova, the founder and head of the Uzbek organization "Mothers against the Death Penalty and Torture," will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.at the gallery of "Goliaths" (Valhahradskaya Street, 4a; tube station “Maskouskaya”).
October 10 - The final press conference of the campaign "Human Rights Defenders against Death Penalty in Belarus," will begin at 11 a.m. in the office of the Human Rights Center "Viasna" (Miarzhynski Street, 8-26, tube station “Park Chaliuskintsau”).
